Treatment

Varicose Vein Treatment

Endovenous Ablation

Endovenous Ablation is a minimally invasive treatment that seals your varicose veins from the inside using either heat or glue. This permanently closes the vein, preventing it from re-filling.

Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy involves the injection of an agent into your varicose veins with the use of ultrasound guidance. This causes the vein to shrivel and fade.

Varicose Veins Stripping

Varicose veins surgery is a traditional operation to surgically remove any abnormal veins, usually via an incision in the groin and tiny incisions over any prominent veins.

Nutrition Management

Good nutrition and keeping a healthy weight can assist in the management of varicose veins and may reduce recurrent varicose veins.

FAQ SECTION

Varicose Vein Questions

What are the risks of varicose vein treatment?

Across the wide range of treatment options available to treat varicose veins, they are all largely tried, tested, minimally invasive and most importantly safe. The most common risks involve bruising, pigmentation and repeat intervention.

Do varicose veins come back after treatment?

The durability of your treatment will be largely due to the type of procedure chosen by your AVC surgeon to suit your needs. Varicose veins are a chronic disease and in come cases despite successful treatment, new ones can develop over many years.

Can varicose veins be treated without a procedure?

There are a broad range of options available to most patients, either in rooms or in hospital. The team at AVC will be able to make a plan with you to suit your needs and preferences.
